College of Wooster Funding to Support Faculty Travel, Research & Professional Development

The Dean for Faculty Development (DFD) coordinates regular faculty funding for conferences, as well as opportunities such as:
- Workshops on teaching & research development
- Publication costs (such as indexing, preparation of figures, and image rights for publications)
- Participation in the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD)’s Faculty Success Program [our Institutional Membership also gives all faculty access to NCFDD webinars & other resources for faculty development – you just need to create an individual account within “The College of Wooster” at http://www.facultydiversity.org/join using your Wooster email address]
- Attending CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) International Faculty Development Seminars
- Training on resources for digital scholarship and pedagogies, such as the week-long courses offered at the Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI), held each June at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Support for Writing Grant Proposals to Outside Funding Agencies
The Office of Sponsored Research & Foundation Relations provides a variety of resources to assist faculty writing grant proposals to outside funding agencies. We would be happy to talk with you about all stages of the process, beginning with identifying funding sources, refining the grant proposal, finalizing budgets, submitting the grant, and managing the grant once awarded.
