Connecting to our own research

  • Recognize the departmental context for this—this may be different for empirical science than for humanities (difficulty with the creative element)
  • Difficulty in that there is a limit to coursework preparing students for this research
  • For some departments (Archeology) it’s tough to bring professor’s research to campus.  How can students incorporate that here or travel?
  • Enthusiasm for potential projects:  Start to introduce your research in the sophomore research experience to nurture and encourage students to stick to that topic through senior year.
